So which is better? This I believe comes down to personal preference! Both have the same durability and longevity as far as a material goes.
9 times out of 10 our customers ask for Matte black, being the coined term for the flat dark abyss with many usually are wanting the finish that comes with satin black or “Batman Black”.
Matte black comes out much like a chalk board, or very comparative to the soot that gathers on a chimney. Matte black is also known as the “Dirty” Black and there are some cases where we find that this is a better choice in colour, however, the downside is that Matte black is notorious for having fingerprints/oils show on its surface quite easily and difficult to keep it clean in general.
Satin black aka Batman black is a dark flat colouring with a slight shimmer. Many mistake Satin for Matte black but Satin comes with a few differences. Firstly, and probably the most noticeable, is that the colour is much darker than its matte counterpart. Fingerprints/oils still show up on satin but not as noticeable. The stealth, sharp, dark and flat finish is the most popular of the two once the differences have been established.
